Pikes Peak - 1993

Date: Summer 1993
Trail Length: 26 Miles
Days on Trail: 2
Trail Notes: This was the second trip up Pikes Peak. I did it before when I was around 10 years old. It was a little easier then because Dad carried all the gear. None the less, this was the first backpacking trip that Lee and I went on together.
The trip started around 10,000 feet at the base of the mountain. The first day was a full day hike to the A-Frame shelter at tree line. On the second day we finished off the incline (up to 14,110 feet) and then came all the way down. There was a total incline of about 4,100 feet. Dad packed the food and supplied us with pleanty of MREs (mmmmm). All in all, it was a great trip!
